These fictional "archives" of historical and ethnographic photographs not only suggest alternatives to both post-colonial Australian and European histories, but also offer considerations of the construction of "History". This illusory "New Museum" engages the contribution of marginal cultures in Australian history and highlights the deceptive use of photography by a majority culture, but also suggests the irrevocable digital corrosion of the veracity of the photograph as historical document. (Lee Weng Choy)Blink. Right. So, according to the pros, whose art level, by the way, probably rank at 'supercallafragillisticespealladocius' (translation: moste pretentiouse artiste), there are supposed to be nuances of culture imperialism, identity, deception, and a criticism of photography as a medium in the exhibition. As a barbarian, however, all I noticed was a) that the white people had funny hair and b) an aborigine woman who had very saggy, er, "lungs".

Two Singaporean men shall not congregate without their collective intelligence being reduced to pre-pubescent levels, and no topic other than the military, money, and sex shall be discussed.
A second lieutenant 'forced to serve' in the infantry takes a sharp stab at the notion of market forces, saying that he will 'fully support the merciless free market theory' if the Government will 'remove the NS liability of all male Singaporeans'.
He adds: 'I guess I could also ask for market rate compensation. I do remember that I slept an average of four hours for 10 1/2 months of inhuman training in Officer Cadet School. Ever slept only six hours in a whole week with continuous missions? I wonder what is the overtime salary rate?
'What about the exceptional hardship that I went through? I guess the amount of stress and pressure I went through, no CEO nor chairman of any kind will ever go through in their whole lifetime, both physically and mentally. What do you suggest for the market rate compensation then?'
...I am extremely disturbed by the views of the second lieutenant who was 'forced to serve' national service. It is distressing that, as a commissioned officer of the Singapore Armed Forces, his perspective seemed both immature and myopic.
As a fellow second lieutenant, I wish to make it clear that his comments do not reflect the feelings of SAF officers. I dare say that most of my SAF counterparts understand clearly that they have a national duty to fulfil, and that it is the highest form of honour anyone can receive...
